2024 Days of Action Dedicated to Rome Recovery
For the second of five United Way’s Days of Action in 2024, the United Way of the Mohawk Valley, Berkshire Bank, and Nunn’s Home Medical Equipment worked together to provide students in the Rome City School District with needed school supplies.
As the official August Day of Action sponsor, funds provided by Berkshire Bank were used to purchase school supplies from Hummel’s Office Plus. Backpacks will also contain items collected by Nunn’s Home Medical Equipment. Volunteers from Berkshire Bank, Hummel’s, and the United Way filled backpacks in a conference room at Connected Community Schools in Rome. Backpacks will be distributed to students by Connected Community Schools.
“Berkshire Bank is committed to supporting the communities throughout the Mohawk Valley. This support is desperately needed in the wake of the severe storm damage the city of Rome suffered during the July Tornado. We are proud to partner with the United Way of the Mohawk Valley and Connected Community Schools to do our part by assembling school supplies for children in the Rome community,” stated Kevin Gaglione, SVP, Regional Leader of CNY & Mohawk Valley, Berkshire Bank.
United Way of the Valley focuses on the community’s education, financial stability, basic needs, and healthcare. United Way’s Days of Action are a snapshot of what United Way does all year long – mobilizing people around solutions to build stronger communities.
