United Way of the Mohawk Valley is a leader in creating innovative solutions to meet our community's needs.
Each initiative works to fill gaps in services in the Mohawk Valley. Our initiatives make an impact that goes far beyond today. They are intended to create lasting change in our community and the lives of those who live and work here.
We lead several initiatives, including 211, Childcare with Utica ESPRI, Housing and Homelessness, and Ride United.
This database was built to deliver local solutions. 211 serves as a 24/7/365 outlet for individuals to get connected to help. As the most comprehensive listing of services in our community, 211 is a vital resource.
211 connects you to help faster. Many times people don't know where to turn first for help. 211 navigates through the many available services to connect our community members with the necessary services.
With the power of technology and innovation, this database goes a step further - providing important information about our community's unique needs. This data helps drive our work in the Mohawk Valley.
Housing and homelessness have been a focus area for United Way for many years. Housing is the foundation of our health and wellbeing. Without stable housing, it is difficult for anyone to obtain an education or job and meet their basic needs.
United Way’s newly established Housing Team works side-by-side with local agencies, and together we are using data to drive solutions that are fair and efficient. Our team is vital to ensuring shelter residents and homeless individuals can be quickly connected to safe housing.
Transportation is vital to help our community rise. Closing transportation gaps magnified by poverty, systemic racism, and other inequities is critical to improving our community's access to medical care. Ride United can help.
United Way MV leveraged a national partnership with Lyft to bring free, safe, and reliable transportation to medical appointments.
Our Ride United pilot and partnership with Upstate Family Health Center will increase access to health services for residents throughout Oneida and Herkimer Counties.
